Just like any parents, we felt anxious, excited and just a little teary-eyed watching our youngest little one heading off to school for the first time, clutching tightly to her care worker’s hand.
Fortunately, Cindy* loves school. We’re looking forward to watching her blossom into a confident, secure and happy child - knowing that she now has a stable, loving home where she’ll be supported and encouraged every step of the way. Huge thanks to those wonderful people who made sure all our kids went back to school with new uniforms and school bags filled with new pencils, pens, crayons, rulers and notebooks. Your kindness means the world to us and the children.
At the other end of the scale, all three of last year’s matric girls passed their exams – with two of them achieving bachelor passes and one distinction in Zulu. One of the girls has been accepted to study community development at the University of Johannesburg. We are so proud of all of them!
