Spending four days at Camp Tholo in the Golden Gate National Park was a completely different experience for our children – and we are most grateful to our wonderful donors and sponsors for making it possible.
From abseiling down a rock face, to horse riding through the mountains … hiking to the top of Mushroom Mountain … examining water samples for living organisms … and roasting marshmallows round the bonfire – it was everything they’d dreamed of, and more!
The children spent a full day at the newly completed Dinosaur Museum, where they learned about the origins, evolution, and extinction of dinosaurs. A second outing to the Bantu Village in QwaQwa was also a big hit. During a guided tour of the village, they met the village chief and the traditional healer. Afterwards, they listened to traditional music and sampled village food.
Thank you again for giving our children this unforgettable ‘golden’ opportunity.
