World Read Aloud Day brought a visit from eight volunteer Literacy Lane teachers, who led fun group activities to help our children improve their reading and writing skills.
From phonetics (hearing and working word sounds) and rhyming, to how to break words into syllables, the children gained comprehension skills to understand stories, and practiced reading with intention.
There were also writing activities and learning games. The day wound up with donated McDonald’s meals all round, ensuring its success!
