In the first few years of life, more than a million neural connections are formed every second in a child’s brain … a rate that never occurs again. Early Childhood Development offers a crucial window of opportunity to shape their future physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.

Our Funda Ngo Thando ECD centre at The Johannesburg Children’s Home offers children from the community – as well as those placed in our care – the best possible early learning experience.

We welcome little ones from 2-5 years old, providing them with a range of activities that are age-appropriate, fun and engaging, whilst developing both fine and gross motor skills.

With the first two terms of the year already under their belts, these little ones are doing so well – with our older group on track to start Grade R next year with all the skills and confidence they need.
