Our shining stars

Master Chef, here we come! Our children have been taking baking lessons from Chef Tshepo on Saturday mornings … and loving it!

So far, they’ve learned to make pizza, scones and chocolate cake … and they can’t wait to get back to their cottages to show off their baking skills to the other children.

Chef Tshepo has built an excellent relationship with the kids, built on teamwork. They have an absolute ball in the kitchen on Saturdays.

Youth Day
We celebrated on 16 June by creating artworks and the children also wrote a poem.

One goal, one dream
Our aspiring soccer players were invited to Jewel City for a friendly match against Walter Sisulu – and we won! Soccer is a favourite activity at JCH, and it’s wonderful to see them achieving success.

Bowling
Our Belgravia bowling stars had the pleasure of going to the Arnold Schwarzenegger tournament and teaching other children how to play bowls. It was so exciting for the boys. Their bowling ability gave them the con1idence to socialise with different people of all age groups.

In April, the Belgravia team also played in a district bowls tournament at the Randburg Bowling Club. Two of our boys won their singles matches.

Others who played didn’t do as well on the score- boards but still thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Athletics star
We also have a young girl who was chosen to participate in provincial athletics! Well done to all our shining stars!
